Dr. Perez has 30 years of practice in St. Croix, VI. He served as Medical Director and Chief of Nephrology at Juan F. Luis Hospital for nearly 20 years. He also has experience running dialysis centers. Dr. Perez completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine in New York, then completed subspecialty fellowship training in Nephrology at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia with multiple scientific medical journal publications.
Since our founding, Dr. Perez has filled the essential role of Medical Director at ProHealth Urgent Care an affiliate of Baptist Health International. He provides comprehensive medical care for adults and children with a focus on primary care, urgent care, and Nephrology. He is available for diagnosis, intervention, and therapeutic care for most on island health care needs with a mainland referral network for a higher level of care.
Stephanie Foster has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her background includes both military and civilian healthcare experience. An Army combat veteran and prior combat medic instructor, Stephanie holds a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science. Her diverse healthcare background also includes over 10 years of experience as a laboratory specialist in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. With over 20 years of fitness experience, Stephanie enjoys teaching kickboxing classes at the local gym.
Born on the beautiful island of Saint Croix, Lavern has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. She became a CMA, phlebotomist and an EMT in the early 2000’s and worked at the Hovensa Oil Refinery as the Medical Coordinator. Lavern and staff took care of over 4600 men and women on a daily basis, ensuring continued health and safety for all. Lavern is also one of original members of the ProHealth team and is a self-proclaimed patient advocate.
Jan Powell, FNP is now providing primary care at ProHealth. Jan received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Kentucky in 1989 and her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Indiana University in 1999. She has 23 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, the most recent five years here on St. Croix. She lives in Frederiksted and enjoys snorkeling, scuba, running, bicycling, and triathlons. Jan prides herself in providing compassionate, quality patient care to everyone she sees.
We would like to welcome Lindsay Hester, NP to our practice. She was born and raised outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained her nurse practitioner degree from the University of Memphis in Tennessee while she was working as a Registered Nurse at level one trauma center in a surgical ICU. She moved to St. Croix over a year ago from Chattanooga, Tennessee where she was practicing as an NP for a large vascular surgery group. She is loving island life by exploring all it has to offer with her husband and puppy. She is excited to provide compassionate care to this great community.
